Avaliação clínica da lente de contato SoftPerm®

Clinical evaluation of SoftPerm® contact lens

RESUMO

Adaptamos a lente de contato SoftPerm® em 20 pacientes (39 olhos) com astigmatismo regular ou irregular. Destes, 16 (80%) abandonaram o uso de lentes rígidas gás permeáveis (R.G.P.) por motivos de desconforto e 4 (20%) tiveram insucesso na adaptação de lentes gelatinosas tóricas (G.T.).

A dificuldade de manuseio por 40% dos pacientes foi a queixa mais frequente. Nenhuma complicação observada necessitou terapêutica medicamentosa.

O tempo médio de seguimento foi de 9,85 meses. A média do astigmatismo corneano foi de 2,53 dioptrias.

70% dos pacientes disseram estar satisfeitos com o uso das lentes. 65% continuaram o uso das lentes SoftPerm até o fim do estudo.

SUMMARY

We adapted the SoftPerm® contact tens in 20 patients (39 eyes) with both regular or irregular astigmatism. Sixteen (80%) had discontinued the use of rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses due to discomfort and four (20%) of them had no success as users of toric soft contact lenses (GT). The most frequently complaining found in 40% of the patients was the lenses dificulty to handle. None of the complications observeds required any kind of drug treatment. The average follow-up time was 9.85 months and the mean corneal astigmatism was 2.53 diopters. 70% of the patients were satisfied with the new lenses and 65% had continued their use by the end of the study.
