Tratamento das bexigas neurogênicas

There are two phases in normal miction : the first one is voluntary and depends on the striated muscles of the abdomen and the pelvic floor; the second is a reflex one, subordinated to the parasympathetic nervous system. In acute spinal injuries, after the initial atonic stage has passed, neurogenic bladders become either autonomous, reflex or uninhibited, depending on the localization and extension of the lesion. The treatment of the neurogenic bladder will aim first of all, at the maintenance of the organ in good shape until a more definite stage is reached. Here the best results are obtained with a continuous washing, in a closed system, with a double-current catheter. The second stage of the treatment (treatment of sequelae) will aim, in the first place, at a fighting of the residual urine, which is commonly found in cases of neurogenic bladders; ultimately it will attend to the re-education of the organ.
