The development of Leptoglossus gonagra Fabr. (Heteroptera: Coreidae), feeding on different Passiflora genotypes was evaluated under 25 ± 1ºC; 65 ± 10% UR and 14 L:10 D, at the Department of Plant Protection, UNESP, Jaboticabal, SP, during 1998. P. alata, P. edulis f. flavicarpa, P. giberti, P. laurifolia and P. nitida, were used in biological studies using branches, floral buttons, flowers and fruits and duration of each nymphal stadium, nymph weight of third and fifth stadium with 24 h of age, mortality per stadium and in all nymphal stages, adult weight, and longevity were determined. L. gonagra did not complete its development when fed only on fruits of P. alata, P. nitida, P. giberti, P. edulis f. flavicarpa and P. laurifolia. Branches, floral buttons, flowers and fruits of P. nitida showed higher levels of antibiosis than P. alata, P. edulis f. flavicarpa and P. giberti, and the last one presented a high level of non-preference for feeding, while P. laurifolia was the most adequate genotype for development of L. gonagra.
