Instituting models of german and french brazilian higher education: a critical review of literature from the employability perspective

The relationship between higher education and employability is the subject of this article. The objective is to establish stylized facts from the Napoleonic (French) and Humboldtian (German) higher education models that show the graduate's profile in terms of skills and competences for the job market. Such higher education models that have influenced the Brazilian university since its constitution generate skills and competences that differ according to the educational process they propose, acting on employability in a peculiar way. The methodology used was the publication of stylized facts based on a critical review of the literature. The results revealed that while the Napoleonic higher education model focuses on practical characteristics, the Humboldtian teaching model focuses on the development of the individual's critical thinking.
