PRODUTIVIDADE DE LINHAGENS DE FEIJOEIRO NO ESTADO DE SÃO PAULO

Yield and disease resistance of dry bean lines were evaluated in the State of São Paulo under field conditions in the 1990-1993 period. The experiments, in randomized complete block design with five replications, were carried out in the dry season (summer/fall) of 1990-93, in Capão Bonito and Itaberá; 1990-91 in Itararé and Paranapanema; 1990 and 1992, in Mococa; 1992-93, in Pariquera-Açu; 1990 in Itaí and of 1991 in Riversul counties; in the winter season (fall/winter) of 1990-93, in Ribeirão Preto and Votuporanga; 1990-92, in Aguaí and Pariquera-Açu; 1992-93 in Roseira and of 1990, in São José dos Campos counties. The trials were also carried out in the rainy season (spring/summer) of 1990-92, in Capão Bonito, Paranapanema and Mococa; 1990 and 1992, in Itaberá; 1991 in Itaí and of 1992, in Ribeirão Preto. The statistical analysis of the three growing seasons showed that lines H853-50-2, H853-50 and H853-50-6, with means of 2,196, 2,107 and 2,089 kg/ha, outyielded the control `Carioca 80SH' which produced 1,9868 kg/ha. These lines are resistant to the anthracnose and angular leaf spot fungi, to the common bean mosaic virus and also with good level of resistance to the rust pathogen. The line H8557-54 showed poor yield capacity for the dry season (1,176 kg/ha) but good productions for the rainy (2,281 kg/ha) and winter (1,771 kg/ha) seasons. Based upon these results, it was possible to release the cultivars IAC-Carioca Pyatã and IAC-Carioca Akytã which originated from the breeding lines H853-50-2 and H853-50-6, respectively, and the black seeded cultivar IAC-Una which came from the mixture of the two sister lines DOR41. H1178-100 51-1-1-1 and 51-1-1-2, for planting in São Paulo State in the three growing seasons. Finally these data together those obtained in the winter season of 1989 lend us to release the line H8557-54, named IAC-Bico de Ouro to the growers for planting in the rainy and winter seasons in São Paulo State.
