Inclusion of the countryside youth into higher education: limits and possibilities

ABSTRACT

All forms of exclusion of human beings from the possibility of access to the most advanced products of humankind is a violence which has to be combated. The access to higher education makes conditions more favourable for new generations to appropriate the historic and theoretical accumulation reached by humankind and, therefore, it is a universal right, that, from above the letter of the law and beyond discourses, needs to be materialized. In the countryside, the situation is even more serious than in the cities, requiring additional investments for the combat of historic deficit and to build better life conditions for youth. In this article, we will analyse the efficiency, the limits and challenges of the ten years of the policy of countryside youth insertion in the higher education’s implantation in Brazil, in the course of graduation in Countryside Education. Among these limits, the difficulty of validation of diploma stands out, as it is not recognized. Among the positive aspects, the ingress of many youths that wouldn’t have had access to the higher education is a highlight.
