A double map of culture, consumption and capitalism

Abstract

This review points to the relevance of the book release entitled Culture of consumption: foundations and contemporary forms, the first book in Brazil to investigate culture as the main commodity of capitalism, as well as some of its contemporary developments (consumption of experience and responsible consumption), highlighting the breadth and originality of the author’s thought, previously recognized by the magnitude of her first book The Brand Name - McDonald’s, fetishism and disposable cultural.
