Negritudes e racismos globais? Uma tentativa de relativizar alguns dos novos paradigmas “universais” nos estudos da etnicidade a partir da realidade brasileira

Resumo

Este ensaio aponta para o que e como mudou, ou deveria mudar, nos estudos étnicos no Brasil, à luz de algumas novas grandes teorias no campo dos estudos étnicos no contexto da globalização. O processo de globalização cria novas condições para a internacionalização das culturas negras e amplia o repertório de símbolos a partir do qual podem se inspirar as novas formas de negritude. Analisar estas dinâmicas somente sob o prisma interpretativo das relações raciais, no mundo anglo-saxônico, pode acabar empobrecendo nosso olhar.

Abstract

This essay points out to what and how has changed, or should change, within ethnic studies in Brazil in the light of a number of new grand theories in the field of ethnic studies in the context of globalization. The process of globalization creates new conditions for the iternationalization of black cultures. It also broadens the reservoir of symbols from which blackness, and the new forms that it is taking, can draw inspiration. Analizing these dynamics exclusively through the perspective of race relations in the Anglo-Saxon world can end up empoverishing our gaze.
