This edition of Interface - Communication, Health, Education brings out into the open themes that have the potential for mobilizing readers to reflect upon and debate how health practices and the education of health professionals can be transformed. These themes are humanization, collective intelligence, integrality, social networks...
Humanization in health is the object of different ways of understanding and provoking reflection upon it as an issue. In the Creation section, the "doctors of the ethics of happiness" bring us a little of the richness of this experience of human relationships, with images and text that will stimulate our "power". In the Debates section a fruitful dialogue developed between guests, Regina Benevides and Eduardo Passos, that set off the discussion with the panel of debaters, consisting of Gastão Wagner, Denise Gastaldo and Suely Deslandes. Overall, this is a construction that right from the outset shows how far we have already gone in reorganizing our health institutions and at the same time shows us how little it still is, given the challenge of providing quality, especially in that area that is more expensive: the relationships between health professionals and service users.
Ricardo Teixeira, Rogério da Costa and Abel Packer contribute in the Dossier section, with their different ways of looking at a new field of transdisciplinary research into Collective Intelligence. Although this is a not a new concept, knowledge production relating to this topic has accelerated enormously over the last ten years, because of the advance in digital information and communication technology and the possibilities that have therefore been presented for recognizing, making available and sharing our knowledge, so that in a spirit of cooperation we may explore the "intelligence of collectives". Ricardo Teixeira discusses an investigation proposal focusing on primary care health services from the perspective of collective intelligence. In his essay Rogério da Costa highlights the concept of social networks in substitution of the community, defending the participation of individuals in virtual communities as a way of stimulating the formation of collective intelligences. Then Abel Packer, as a new paradigm for structuring scientific communication in health, shares with us the experience he gained from the collective construction of a Virtual Health Library ("BVS").
In the other works in this edition readers will find elements that will encourage them to think about health practices from various theoretical focus points and to reflect upon the innovative teaching practices that instigate changes.
