Abstract:
This paper presents a methodology to estimate quantitatively the environmental sustainability through an index built based on several other indexes used nationally and internationally. Therefore, it has a rescue of the conceptual sustainable development and its environmental face and the theory of indicators, to finally introduce other indexes and build a proposal for the Environmental Sustainability Index for Mato Grosso do Sul state.
