The right to the city and the local development as a base for the humanization of the urban space

Abstract:

This article has as its theme the humanization of cities and it aims to identify the right to the city and local development as tools for the humanization of urban space. The research is bibliographical and sought to interpret and to correlate reflections of reference authors in the themes treated, such as Lefebvre, Harvey, Jacobs, Gehl, Ávila and Max-Neef. The study emphasized the importance of local development and the right to the city as public policies axes and ways of achieving the protagonism of the human being in the cities.
