The present article interprets the great cosmic myth in Plato’s Stateman by showing that the representation of human historicity, allegorically elaborated in it, illustrates and anticipates, in a symbolic register, some of the theoretical solutions put forth by the dialogue in its conclusion, concerning the relations between the best regime and history.
