Odebrecht and the Formation of the Angolan State (1984-2015)

ABSTRACT

This article explores the trajectory of Odebrecht in Angola between 1980s and 2015. It draws on the premise that colonial and post-colonial leaders instrumentalize multinationals in order to meet their domestic goals. The article offers an original perspective on relations between the State and multinational corporations that is relevant to academic studies on the relations between Brazil and Africa.
