Leaching of nutrients of wastewater in columns, of soil cultivated with soybean

Abstract

Nutrient leaching was evaluated in soil columns filled with soil from area irrigated using swine wastewater and cultivated with soybean. After wastewater applications with four concentrations (0%-T1, 25%-T2, 50%-T3 e 75%-T4), soil samples were collected to composse the steel inox columns with 7.0 cm diameter for leaching tests. In all columns, constant head permeameters using Mariotte bottle have been installed. Breakthrough curves were determined for Ntotal, Nammoniacal, NO3, P, K, EC, and pH. The results showed that the methodologies were adequate for the NO3, K, EC, and pH. However, it was not found adequate for P, Ntotal, Nammoniacal. The NO3 showed larger mobility than EC and K, in the all treatments. In general, T4 showed highest concentration of NO3, K and EC in the leachate.
