Abstract
This work presents the basic structure of the Water Conservation in Urban Areas Program, as well as its practical application focusing on actions of water reuse in hydrographic basins. This application is around two wastewater treatment plants, where actions of water reuse are evaluated, specifically treated wastewater to attend the industrial, agricultural and urban sectors. It was observed that the actions related to the planned indirect water reuse were more attractive, compared to those related to the direct water reuse. This can be attributed to the high costs of the infrastructure of the actions of direct water reuse, associated to the reduced benefits such as for example, amounts of saved water.
