Student Advisor Program at the Marilia School of Medicine: Reclaiming, Rebuilding, and Seeking a Basis for Student Orientation

Abstract:

In a student-centered curricular model, institutional resposability is crucially importante to effer supprt for the development of the student’s autonomy. The student advisor program express this purpose and stablishes such support by taking responsability for organazing the relationship between students, faculty, and administrative staff. This paper reports on the process of stablishing a student advisor model within the academic community at the Marilia School of Medicine (Famema), based on experience sice a curricular reform in the school. The authors also presente the Student Advisor’s Guidebook, the finished product of a plan develop during the year 2002.
