Performance of an agricultural tire tractor working with mixtures of diesel oil and reused soybean oil

In Brazil, biomass has been the most attractive form of alternative energy, and, more recently, residue and fresh vegetable oils. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of the power take-off of an agricultural tire tractor with the mixtures of Diesel oil (DO) with reused soybean oil (RSO). First, it was evaluated the density of the mixtures, the Diesel oil temperature behavior in the system of engine fuel feeding and viscosity of the mixtures. Dynamometric assays were carried out to evaluate the performance of the engine fed with the mixtures DO + RSO at different ratios. The results showed that the density and viscosity of the mixtures varied with the increase in the amount of oil of reused soybean (RSO) and with the variation in the temperature; the mixture 25% DO with 75% RSO provided the greatest power take-off compared with the other mixtures; and the specific consumption and torque increased with increasing percentages of RSO added to the mixtures.
