Abstract
The present contribution aims at challenging the generalized idea according to which second scholasticism in Brazil follows and imitates its counterpart in Portugal, and namely its two first authorities, Pedro da Fonseca, and the Coimbra Jesuit Course. To contradict this research paradigm, the author provides some methodological suggestions still to be pursued.
