Lamiaceae of Ibitipoca State Park, Minas Gerais, Brazil

Abstract

This study is a floristic survey of the Lamiaceae family in the Parque Estadual do Ibitipoca. The Parque Estadual do Ibitipoca, in the municipalities of Bias Fortes, Lima Duarte and Santa Rita de Ibitipoca, in the southeast of the state of Minas Gerais, is currently one of the most visited Conservation Units in Brazil. Lamiaceae is one of the most important families of Angiosperms, both economically and in diversity. In this study 10 genera and 12 species were found: Aegiphila obducta, Cantinoa plectranthoides, Cyanocephalus rugosus, Eriope macrostachya, Hyptidendron asperrimum, Hyptis monticola, Mesosphaerum suaveolens, Rhabdocaulon coccineum, Salvia sellowiana, S. viscida, Vitex polygama and V. sellowiana. Identification key, species description, illustrations and taxonomic comments are presented in this study.
