A master's program's technological production in nursing

The objective of this descriptive-exploratory study with a quantitative approach was to identify the different typologies of convergent-assistance technologies proposed in the Master's Course in Nursing at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil between 2001 and 2004. The theoretical reference was based upon the concept of convergent-assistance technologies and their typologies. Ninety-two Master's theses were analyzed, of which sixty-nine were considered as probable technological productions and thus were classified according to the proposed typology. The data was analyzed using simple statistics. The results demonstrate diversity among types of technologies which have been produced in the context of the program, highlighting educational convergent-assistance technologies, followed by care, then interpretive technologies concerning client situations, denoting a concern for rethinking and reconstructing Nursing and health care practices.
