All manuscripts submitted to *Ambiente & Sociedade* will be evaluated by referees. Manuscripts must have a maximum length of 40 pages with 50,000 characters. Two abstracts should accompany the manuscript: one in English and one in Portuguese, with a maximum of 420 characters each. Notes should be avoided as much as possible, but if included, they must be numbered automatically in Arabic system, increasing order and listed at the end of the text (endnotes). References cited in the text must follow the format: (AUTHOR's last name, date: page). Bibliography must be presented at the end of the text, in alphabetical order, according to the format: (a) Books: AUTHOR's name, *Title in bold*. Place of publication, Publisher, date. (b) Articles: AUTHOR's name, "Title". /Title of Journal in italic/. Place of publication, Journal's number (volume or newsletter): initial page-final page, month/year. Authors are fully responsible for correct bibliographic references and ideas expressed throughout the text.

The peer review can be sent back to editors in 20 days after received and must contain General remarks about the propposal; Accordance to the journals mission; Deficiences and Final Report.

In case of been unable to send the peer review in time, we ask to send back the article.

Editors assure that the identity of both referees and authors will be kept anonymous.

Authors should submit one printed copy of their manuscripts and one diskette (WORD 6.0) c/c Eliana Creado e Fabiana Barbi .
