INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

 

Aims and editorial policy

Cadernos Cedes are thematic publications of the Centro de Estudos Educação e Sociedade (Center of Studies Education and Society - CEDES), directed to professionals and researchers from the educational field, aiming at approaching significant and current issues in this field.

The publication accepts contributions, but reserves the right to publish or not the material spontaneously sent to the center.

Professionals who work in the educational field can propose themes to organize the Cadernos. Proposals will be evaluated by the Editorial board.

Contributions should be sent to CEDES at the address below.

 

Rules for contributions

Presentation of the Cadernos

The first page of each article must show the author's name and his or her institutional reference, as well as an abstract of the article (in Portuguese and in English) up to a maximum of 10 lines, keywords (Portuguese/English), and an english title version.

Guidelines to authors

Articles must be submitted in three double spaced typed copies, with no corrections. Footnotes, whenever included in the articles, must be numbered sequentially and typed in separate sheets of paper. Mentions to other authors within the text must obey the form (Author date), as follows: (Author 1962). Different titles by the same author and published in the same year must be differentiated by a letter after the date, as follows: (Author 1962a), (Author 1962b). Bibliography must be presented at the end of the article, in alphabetical order, according to these examples:

1. Book of one only author:

LAST NAME, Name. Title in italic. Edition. Place: Publishing company, date.

2. Book of two authors:

LAST NAME, Name & LAST NAME, Name. Idem to the first example.

3. Book of three authors:

LAST NAME, Name; LAST NAME, Name & LAST NAME, Name. Idem to the first example.

4. Book of more than three authors: to place the name of the first author, followed by the expression et al. Idem to the first example.

5. Articles of magazines (signed):

LAST NAME, Name. article title without italic or quotations marks. Name of the magazine in italic, Local, date, volume, number, page(s).

6. Articles of magazines (not-signed):

TITLE of the article without italic or quotations marks, first word all-caps. Idem to the previous example.

7. Articles in periodicals (signed):

LAST NAME, Name of the author. Title of the article without italic or quotations marks. Name of the periodical in italic, Local, date, section, page(s).

8. Articles in periodicals (not-signed):

TITLE of the article without italic or quotations marks, first word all-caps. Idem to the previous example.

9. Articles in books:

LAST NAME, Name. "Heading of the article between quotations marks". In: Last name, First name (ed./org.), Heading of the book in italic. Idem to the first example.

10. Dissertations and thesis:

LAST NAME, Name. Title of the dissertation or thesis. Dissertation/Thesis of grade in Area X, Name of the Institute/Faculty, University. Place, date.

 

When organizing lists of bibliographical references, the authors must always attempt to the uniform and correct use of the punctuation.

The journal is not obliged to return originals sent to CEDES. Authors take full responsibility for signed articles. All articles will be published at the site of the Scientific Electronic Library Online: www.scielo.br.
