Abstract

LIMA, L. Clark  and  ALEXANDRE, Maria Augusta. Biomphalaria aff. tenagophila do Sítio Arqueológico do Corondo, São Pedro da Aldeia, RJ. Mem. Inst. Oswaldo Cruz [online]. 1985, vol.80, n.4, pp. 491-495. ISSN 0074-0276.  http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S0074-02761985000400016.

This study identified the Planorbidae shells from Corondó Archaelogical Site, RJ, as Biomphalaria aff. tenagophila. This Site was dated from 3000-4000 year BP (C-14). It is thought that the shells were transported by hunters-collectors who lived in the area. In constrast to B. tenagophila, now living in areas nearby, the ancient B. aff. tenagophila were wider.

Keywords : Biomphalaria aff. tenagophila; sítio arqueológico; camadas estratígráficas; diferenças morfológicas.
