ABSTRACT
This study aimed to analyze the experiences of career plans, positions and salaries awarded by the Ministry of Health. For this purpose, a descriptive and qualitative research was conducted, in 2013, through documentary analysis and interviews with managers of the health secretariats with implanted plans. Data were analyzed in the light of national guidelines for the establishment of plans in the Unified Health System. The studied plans, negotiated with the employees and based on the guidelines, consider performance evaluation and professional qualification for career progression. It is concluded that plans need to include the various types of employment bonds and forms of remuneration compatible with health careers.
