The present study investigates the opinion of healthcare professionals (nurses) toward drug users; to identify individual approaches and to know what knowledge they consider essential to the nursing care. The information was collected by interviewing 7 nurses from health units in the city of Biguacu -SC, using the Bardin technique of analysis. This sample is believed to reflect the opinion of broader social and medical boards. However, some part of this sample can be indicating the understanding of that the globalization process can be contributing for the "deregulation" of the drug use, approaching to the Critical-Holistic Analysis of International Health.
