SUMMARY
The authors analise 67patients (72 eyes) with central serous retinopathy treated with argon laser photocoagulation. They observe that 86,2% presented final visual acuities better or equal to 20/40 and that 87,5% were considered cured in less than 2 months.
Thirty three patients have had a mean follow up of 25,2 months. Nine of them (27,3%) showed recurrence in an average of 25 months after photocoagulation and 2 (6%) developed subretinal neovascularization.
The results support that argon laser photocoagulation is a safe and efficient treatment, leading to a small ocurrence of complications.
