Efeitos locais do colírio de mitomicina C na sensibilidade táctil corneana, no filme lacrimal e no epitélio córneo-conjuntival de olhos operados de pterígio

Topical effects of eye drops of 0.04% mitomicin C applied before pterygium excision on corneal sensitivity, on precorneal tear film and on corneoconjunctival epithelium

RESUMO

Este estudo compara a influência do uso tópico da mitomicina C, na concentração de 0,04%, 1 gota 4 vezes ao dia por 14 dias (39 casos), com controles (38 casos), na sensibilidade táctil corneana medida com o estesiômetro de Cochet & Bonnet, no filme lacrimal avaliado pelos testes de Schirmer I e tempo de rompimento do filme lacrimal e no epitélio córneo-conjuntival avaliado pelo teste do rosa bengala a 1%.

Dentro das condições deste estudo, conclui-se que o uso tópico da mitomicina C a 0,04% não influenciou nas medidas de estesiometria corneana, nas avaliações do filme lacrimal e no epitélio córneo-conjuntival.

SUMMARY

This study was carried out to determine the effect of topical mitomycin C 0. 04% instilled postoperatively 1 drop four times a day for 2 weeks (39 cases) with controls (38 cases) on corneal sensitivity measure, Schirmer 1 test, break-up time of the precorneal tear film and rose bengal test.

The research demonstrates that the use of 0. 04% mitomycin C eyedrops has not influenced the corneal sensitivity, the precorneal tear film, and the corneoconjunctival epithelium.
