Efect of hormones on root development by citron cuttings

SUMMARY
Groups of 20 cuttings, taken from a single variety corsican citron plant (Citrus medica, L.), were treated with 4 different types of plant hormones. The treatment was made by dipping the lower end of the cutting in a solution of the hormone for 24 hours; rooting was carried out in boxes filled with sand and kept in the greenhouse.
Of the four hormones tested, the beta indolbutyric and beta indolacetic acids at 10-3 gave a higher percentage of rooted cuttings and heavier roots than the other treatments.
