SUMMARY

In this paper the author shows the results obtained in an experiment of competition between clones of rubber trees (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg.) with regard to the vegetative development of the plants.

The national clones IAC-1, IAC-2 and Fx-25 present vegetative development more satisfactory than clones introduced from the East. The good development of the plants shows that the region about Campinas is fit for planting rubber trees.
