Summary
A clinical and anthropometric evaluation of nutritional status in 122 poor pre-school children in Manaus, showed that 66,4% of the children were suffering from different grades of malnutrition. Clinical signs associated with deficiencies of Vitamin A and Iron indicate the necessity for the further study of these problems. The synergistic roles of infection and nutrition in growth are discussed.
