The Amazon forest has provided mankind with native fruits of international importance, sach as the Brazil Nut (Bertholletla excelsa Η.Β.Κ.) and Cacao (Theobroma cacao L.). We believe many other fruits οf similar potential — presently exploited only by indians -are ready to be domesticated or introduced to new markets.
Here we propose two fruiting plants of the family Annonaceae used by Mambiquara Indians as having potential for domestication and ase by "civilized man". They are SA3 LX KV3SU2 (Onychopetalum krukoffii Fries) anã KWA3LHA2 KA3SU2 (Duguetia of marcgra-viana Mart.). Botanical descriptions o fa both species are provided.
