Lignin from corn crop residue used with indicator in experiment of apparent digestibility: comparative study

This experiment was conducted aiming to comparing lignin isolated from corn crop residue (LPM-RM) and other indicators. In addition to LPM-RM, chromium oxide (Cr2O3), ytherbium (YbCl3.6H2O), acid detergent indigestible fiber (FAD-ind), methoxil (OCH3), Klason lignin (KL) and lignin-infrared (LIG-IV) were also used. The comparative study demonstrated that the digestibility coefficient by indicator (CD-I), when compared to many indicators, was different only for methoxyl in relation to the others. All indicators were statistically similar in relation to fecal recovery, except for methoxil that had low recovery (44,56%). When compared to the total collection, digestibility data obtained with infrared-lignin, and Ytherbium chloride (Yb) were similar (21% superior in case of chromium oxide and 24% in case of LIG-IV and Yb).
