Between song and poetry the voice of an indigenous woman echoes and resists: interview with Márcia Kambeba

Abstract

This interview is born from the discussions arisen during the course: “Fundamentals in Reading the Literary Text: Poetry and Ethnopoetry”, which highlighted the importance of indigenous literature through poetry, especially as an instrument of resistance and preservation of thought of the native people. The interview aims to get to know a little more about the reality of the indigenous poet and activist Márcia Kambeba, as well as to provoke debates based on her texts and to find out how they reflect her culture, her beliefs and her experiences. The questions were prepared based on the life of the writer and activist, in addition to her works that speak of this indigenous context, highlighting the contribution of her works in the educational process of indigenous and non-indigenous people. The interview was carried out remotely, in which open questions were asked that generated answers that corroborate the discussions about the exclusion, marginalization and resistance of the indigenous people in the current context.
