O Perfeito Cozinheiro: Joy, Complexity and Finitude

Abstract

The collective diary O perfeito cozinheiro das almas deste mundo (“The Perfect Cook of the Souls of this World”) prompts us to think in at least two concomitant directions: the first as a mobile, multiple and simultaneous set of remnants and snippets of texts that, by fermenting genres in combustion and transit, take the concept of the literary elsewhere; the second, as an open space of experimentation and procedures, through the metonymic agglomeration of sound and syntactic materials, which announce an epistemic, joyful and tragic turn, unfolded by Oswald de Andrade in his later work. Yuri Tynyanov, with his notions of series and constructive function, is one of the authors who help us understand such displaced accumulations of texts as a field of interactions between codes that alter the modes of knowledge.
