Peanuts and beans mixed crop studies

SUMMARY
Field trials studying the association of beans and peanuts were carried out in Pindorama and Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo State, in February May, 1969. The seed mixture treatments tested were: A 100% beans; B 100% peanuts; C 90% peanuts and 10% beans; D 85% peanuts and 15% beans; E 80% peanuts and 20% beans; F 70% peanuts and 30% beans; G 60% peanuts and 40% beans, and H 50% beans and 50% peanuts in different rows 0,30m apart. Best results were found in Pindorama; in both localities, C, D, and E treatments showed bean plants affected by the better peanuts development. In F and G treatments, beans depressed the peanut plants development and seed production.
