Study of particle size action of limestone, in soil

With the purpose of studying the efficiency of the particle size of dolomitc and calcitic limestone materials a pot experiment without plants in greenhouse was conducted. On the 35, 100, 270, and 540th day after starting the expriment soil samples were taken to determine pH, aluminum, calcium and magnesium. The results showed that the particle size is very important and that particles finer than 50 meshes are the most efficient. The period of interaction between the limestone and the soil is not the most important factor, and materials with particle size bigger than 20 meshes are not efficient on the chemical characteristics.
