Intersectoriality and public policies for youth: contributions from academic studies

ABSTRACT

This article aims to present how the academy has addressed intersectoriality in public policies for youth in Brazil. In Brazilian legislation and in government and international documents, the recommendation to intersectoral policies is recurrent, as a strategy for comprehensive care for young people. Based on this finding, it is worth asking: has the intersectoral approach been studied in academic production? Through bibliographical research on three platforms – Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Redalyc and Coordination of Superior Level Staff Improvement (Capes) –, 43 works were collected and analyzed. The analysis points out that the theme is little explored and only a few texts investigate intersectoriality viability and forms of implementation. The challenges found are, in large part, those already pointed out in the literature, but there are other challenges, specific to policies for young people.
