https://doi.org/10.1445/ayerjournal.v27i... highlight the lack of attention given to municipal state capacities in academic national, and international literature, despite the increasing decentralization of public policies. Against this backdrop, this study offers a bibliometric review of the scientific production related to the subject in the period from 1975 to 2020. Data was collected from the Web of Science database, and analyzed using the CitNetExplorer and VOSviewer software. The analysis provided a map with citations, authors, countries, sources, keywords, and bibliographic coupling, which made it possible to understand the theme in different contexts and situations and point out directions for future research.
