Abstract
The purpose of this article is to highlight the difference in behavior of China in the Security Council during the periods between 1971 and 2006 and between 2007 and 2012. The first, marked by the discreet presence of the country among all other permanent members, and the second characterized by a much more active behavior, consistent with its role in the new order and the international system, and the potential to reconfigure the politics among great power and the world geopolitics.
