Open-access Educação Infantil: a discussão dos Parâmetros Nacionais de Qualidade e Equidade começa no berço

This article analyzes the contemporary challenges of this stage and the importance of national quality standards. Research highlights the significance of the early years of life for human development, warning of the risks of providing education without quality. The creation of the BNCC and the inclusion of early childhood education in the SAEB reflect this movement. In the context of the reformulation of the National Quality Parameters, culminating in the National Operational Guidelines for Quality and Equity in Early Childhood Education (DONQEEI, 2024), the text discusses remaining challenges, such as the quality of provision for infants and toddlers, the low political priority given to daycare, the impact of partnerships on service quality, and the need for intersectoral coordination to ensure comprehensive care in early childhood.
