PHYSICS STUDENT'S IMAGINARY ABOUT YOUTH AND ADULT EDUCATION AND THIS MODALITY'S TEACHING

ABSTRACT:

We report here a qualitative study's outcomes whose goal was to investigate a future physics teachers group's imaginary about Youth and Adult Education (EJA) and this modality's teaching. As theoretical and methodological support, we used contributions of Discourse Analysis, mainly those by Eni Orlandi. The analysis was based on responses given by the individuals to four open questions about EJA. The results revealed that the future teachers' imaginaries relate very little to their initial training's knowledge, and derive from their experiences in different production conditions; resulting in aspects such as concern with reduced workload, EJA's bond only to the literacy process and the need to simplify physics content.
