Open-access The elderly homeless situation: Sísifo revisited

Abstract

This paper focus to one of the most severe social problems to the elder people: the homelessness. Based on the life of an emblematic person who lives in this condition, this study points out how the homelessness situation is related to the following circle: poverty, premature insertion to the market and the unstable market condition. This situation is composed basically by the familiar vulnerability, the alcoholism and itinerancy. As a Sisifo's Myth course conclusion, these circumstances feed up a non-perspective future condition planning that has just one certain choice: death.
