E a corrupção coube em 20 centavos

Abstract

We returned to the “Jornadas de Junho de 2013”[Days of June 2013] to study how the anti-corruption discourse became part of the agenda of demonstrations that, initially, aimed only at repealing an increase in bus fares. We show the relevance of police violence in the generalization of the claim to victim status . This generalization allowed a subsequent generalization: that of citizens who are victims of an immoral and corrupt state. We point out the interval between the 13th and 17th as the moment in which there were intense movements of the hegemonic media and of groups backed by the social networks to introduce the corruption in the agenda of the manifestations.
