This paper focuses in some aspects about the connections between GLBT movement (Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, Transvestites and Transsexuals) and gay market as well as analyze the ways by which it was possible. In the period that goes from the middle of 1990's until these days, the homosexual movement, nowadays known as GLBT movement has grown in Brazil especially in Sao Paulo. Meanwhile, the circuit of bars, night-clubs and other places related to homosexuals has diversified and expanded its activities towards the constitution of a more amplified market organized under the term GLS (Gays, Lesbians and Sympathizers). This process has been accompanied of a change in the way this market and the movement is presented, constructing a common language based in ideas like visibility and pride, which also brought a greater dialogue and new tensions between movement and market.
