In this paper I will explore the relevance of Epigraphy (gladiators' tombstones and graffiti from Pompeii) to discuss some images of the daily lives of gladiators. Archaeological Epigraphic evidence can provide us different approaches to this particular kind of Roman entertainment; it can also help us to rethink the relationship between gladiators and Roman society during the Early Empire and to propose more pluralist approaches to the Roman past.
