Intersectorality as a strategy for promoting adolescent sexual and reproductive health.

This is a descriptive, qualitative research conducted by the Education by Work for Health Program (PET-Health) that describes activities conducted in schools for promoting sexual education and prevention of teenage pregnancy and how researchers may contribute to this care. Twenty public schools from a Sao Paulo State town were enrolled, represented by one of three workers. Data were obtained by two open questions and processed by contents analysis with a thematic modality. We observed a predominance of medical-biologist activities in the program content in schools, in preference to amplified approaches or partnerships aiming at intersectoral and multidisciplinary works, although the educators acknowledged the importance of the latter. PET-Health had thus showed ways to contribute to activities that were already being conducted, in addition to improving researchers’ training and personal relationships, both of which are vital to the comprehension of care from the perspective of integrality.
