Strategies to enhance health promotion for vulnerable children and adolescents

Developing dialogic popular health education practices with professionals working in civil society organizations is a necessary pathway towards ensuring health promotion for vulnerable children and adolescents. The aim of this study was to reflect on strategies to enhance health promotion for vulnerable children and adolescents in a civil society organization. The study was performed using culture circles, conceived by Paulo Freire. Four proposals were developed in the culture circle, including the democratic participation of children in choosing and caring for the physical environment, the creation of spaces for interaction and engagement, and community participation. The reflections were of a political and educational nature, including aspects such as the formation of democratic citizens, respect for differences and the development of autonomy, moving towards health promotion.
