LEISURE SPACES AND EQUIPMENT: REFLECTIONS ON SCHOOL RECREATION TIME

ABSTRACT

This study investigated the relationships between children and adolescents with recreational spaces and leisure facilities at a private school in Florianópolis. It is characterized as a field study, descriptive and exploratory, with a qualitative approach and analysis. A total of 19 students participated in this study, between the 6th year of Elementary School and the 3rd year of High School, and three school employees. To obtain the data, observations and interviews were used. The data were organized using the software N-VIVO 12 and analyzed through the technique of content analysis. The categories that grouped the results were: students' desires and interests at recess; playing in its different times and spaces; social relationships and interaction at recess. From them, it was possible to affirm that children and adolescents should establish relationships with the spaces and leisure facilities present in the school environment since these can foster social, intellectual and integral growth of students.
