Editor's viewpoint

GRADUATION PROGRAM ON TOXINOLOGY

In view of the experience acquired with the First International Specialization Course on Toxinology (lato-sensu), the Center for the Study of Venoms and Venomous Animals - CEVAP/UNESP has been pursuing the setting up of a Graduation Program on Toxinology (strictu-sensu). In this context, CEVAP's main lines of research will comprise the following advanced topics on: biology of venomous animals, microbiological aspects of the main toxins produced by microorganisms, immunology of envenomings, high-performance chemistry of toxic substances and of biological venoms, as well as toxins from marine animals. Considering these parameters and with the help of 40 researchers with highly specialized curricula in Toxinology, CEVAP will foster the generation of skilled human resources, that is, masters and doctors in Toxinology.

In conclusion, the results of this Graduation Program will be disseminated by The Journal of Venomous Animals and Toxins with the publication of dissertations, theses and scientific papers originated from this program.
