The narratives of the self and the production of hiv memory in the campaign O cartaz HIV positivo

Abstract

This paper aims at making a discursive analysis of the utterances of narratives by people living with aids in contemporary Brazil. Thereunto, it started from discussions about memory and the role of narratives in experiencing the disease, as well as the biopolitics problematization of what is understood as the chronical apparatus of aids. The discursive cut-outs analyzed are composed by ten recorded testimonials of people living with aids, produced in 2015 by the Grupo de Incentivo à Vida (Life Support Group) as a part of the campaign O Cartaz HIV Positivo. The hypothesis is the discursive functioning on these narratives indicates a still open game about the stigmatizing utterances of aidsation, the confession techniques and the possibilities of resistance for the subjects living with hiv nowadays.
